Logan Allen ($9,200) vs Giants– Logan Allen has only made 2 starts in his major league career but he has done well in them with an ERA of 1.38 and 2 wins. He will be up against a weak Giants lineup on paper and he has shown he can be pretty efficient so far this year. He wasn’t as sharp in his 2nd start as his 1st but the team has decided he should stick in the rotation for now. The pitching tonight is extremely weak with Allen being the 2nd highest priced option behind Mike Minor but looking at the rest of the options I am going to take a shot with him at a hefty $9,200 price.
Trevor Williams ($8,100) vs Cubs– Trevor Williams has been a bit shaky since returning from the IL but in my mind he is still a very solid starting option for the Pirates. He has a tough matchup against the Cubs tonight but like I said before the starting pitching tonight is really weak and I don’t feel confident in anybody below Williams on this list to even get me 10 FPTS. Being completely transparent I’m not even 100% confident in this pick it’s just the other options are even worse. Williams has shown he can be a very solid asset so I am banking on him returning to form tonight.
Manny Machado ($5,100) vs Giants– Machado has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past couple of weeks with 10 HRs in his last 15 games with 23 RBI’s in that span. He will be up against Jeff Samardzija tonight who he has seen really well hitting .455 vs him in 12 career PAs. Overall Samardzija has also struggled giving up 5 ERs in his last two starts. Overall, Machado is hitting at an elite level right now and honestly this price doesn’t seem as high as it should be especially when the Padres offense is playing very well.
Shohei Ohtani ($4,700) vs Rangers– Ohtani has hit the ball pretty well as of late with a hit in 6 of his last 7 games with 3 HRs in that time. He will be up against Mike Minor who has been dominant lately but all his #’s show he is pitching way better than he should be and that the bubble has to burst sometime soon. I am banking on that being tonight with a lot of Angels players hitting it well vs the lefty. In limited action Ohtani is hitting .333 vs Minor.
Chance Sisco ($4,000) vs Rays– Sisco looks like he has gotten his bat going with 6 hits in his last 5 starts and 2 of those have been home runs. Like a lot of other positions catching is limited tonight and Sisco is swinging a hot enough bat for me to consider rostering him tonight. He has shown the ability to produce with 7 RBI in his last 3 games so I’m going to ride with him tonight.
Kole Calhoun ($3,800) vs Rangers– Kole Calhoun hasn’t been swinging the bat well, thus why his price is so low, but like Ohtani he has seen it well vs Minor posting a .429 average with a HR in 8 career PAs. Minor is due for a dud eventually and like I said earlier I’m thinking it may come tonight vs the Angels in a divisional matchup.
