Quarterbacks

We have a loaded week and there are a lot of different ways you can go. Russell Wilson just continues to be the safest option, as he is averaging 34.3 FD points so far this season and Miami’s defense is not in good shape to limit this Seahawks offense. You have Lamar Jackson against Washington who might be lower owned and a great pivot away from Wilson. Pat Mahomes also might see some lower ownership just due to the matchup. Wilson is still my favorite of the three. You can move down a little in price with Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, and Dak Prescott. All are in great spots and have been crushing this season in fantasy.

Below the $8,000 mark, Deshaun Watson is my favorite option. He gets a banged up Minnesota secondary who are struggling against the pass. This is the first positive matchup for Watson this season and he has great stacking partners. Joe Burrow is sneaky as well. Jacksonville is allowing 20.9 FD points per game to opposing quarterbacks and over two passing touchdowns per game. If you want to get weird, Ryan Fitzpatrick is averaging 19 FD points to start the season but Seattle has allowed 25.6 FD points per game to quarterbacks.

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara is the lock at running back for me this week. Detroit has allowed 172 yards per game to opposing running backs through the first three weeks and 24.6 points per game. This is a great week for pay up options, as Ezekiel Elliott has averaged 20 FD points per game on the season and gets a Cleveland defense he should be able to run through. I also like Dalvin Cook against the Texans, who have allowed 147 rushing yards per game and 1.2 touchdowns per game.

Kenyan Drake has struggled to find the end zone but I like going back to the well here against Carolina. They are one of the worst defense in the league, and have allowed 30.8 FD points per game to running backs. Joe Mixon and David Johnson are in really good spots under $7,000, but Mixon scares me a bit because of the recent performances. It is a great GPP play. James Robinson, Darrell Henderson, and Devin Singletary (if Moss is out) are all strong values to consider.

Wide Receivers

There are a couple of questionable tags on the top-priced plays. DeAndre Hopkins is the one I want to pay attention to the most. It is a great spot for him and the targets are just as they were in Houston. This is also a great matchup for Hopkins. Chris Godwin is out this week and Mike Evans is someone to look at as is Justin Watson. Chris Harris being out is a major blow to the Chargers pass defense. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are still too cheap and this game overall is just easy to stack. Both DeVante Parker and Preston Williams are solid options against a Seattle team that is allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

The Carolina wide receivers are all in play against the Cardinals who have been quiet from a fantasy perspective against the pass but this is a different story this week with Carolina. I like the Texans-Vikings offenses this week and that means the wide receivers. Brandin Cooks and Justin Jefferson are strong values, but Adam Thielen and Will Fuller are solid options as well. We can go back to the well with the Cowboys wideouts but Cleveland’s wide receivers get a weak secondary and this game will be a high scoring one. Cincinnati’s wideouts are in play as well and this is a cheap stack that you can fill in top options with.

Tight Ends

Some of the high priced options are intriguing this week. Mark Andrews gets a Washington defense that has allowed 11.2 FD points per game to opposing tight ends. Andrews had a big Week 1 but has been quiet ever since. He should be back this week. Buffalo has allowed 70.4 yards per game to opposing tight ends and Darren Waller is an intriguing spin off from the other top options. One of the cheaper names I like is TJ Hockenson. New Orleans has quietly been bad against tight ends allowing 85 yards per game and 1.1 touchdowns per game this season. Mike Gesicki is the other one I like this week in a shootout style game.

Defense

There are not a ton defenses I am willing to go with this week as the obvious ones on the board I will plug in. The pay up options are the Ravens and the Rams. It is pretty straight forward as they take on two of the weak NFC East offenses. The Ravens have averaged 12.3 fantasy points per game this season and Washington has an implied total of 16.25. The Giants are at 17.5. The turnover upside is there and they are heavy favorites. The Buccaneers are a great pivot as are the Bills. If you want to go a bit cheaper, the Bears get the Colts, who I don’t have a ton of faith in to put up points this week and Philip Rivers has been an interception machine dating back to last season.
