FanDuel NFL Week 10 Tournament GPP Picks: Daily Fantasy Advice & Strategy
Contents
When playing in large-field tournaments you need to have a balance of players hitting their absolute ceiling for the week, whether that be with a stack of using a lineup of one-offs. Ownership is important but many tournaments have been won with having a few high owned players that go off that week. This article will bring you my favorite tournament plays stretched across a range of prices where I am looking at them hitting their peak. Some will carry some ownership just for the sake of being top plays while some will be lesser owned.
Quarterbacks
Deshaun Watson – $8,300 – Projection: 23.1
Deshaun Watson continues to be a strong option and his name isn’t quite as popular each week in comparison to Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, etc. Houston has a 24 implied total this week and will likely trail against Cleveland given the Texans defense continues to be dreadful and won’t change. Watson has a 26.8 FD point ceiling in the last eight games and is averaging 23.1 over the last seven games. Cleveland has allowed 20.1 FD points per game to quarterbacks.
Carson Wentz – $7,500 – Projection: 19.4
The Eagles offense continues to be one that nobody wants to deal with and while Carson Wentz has not played well, he is still averaging 21.2 fantasy points per game over the last seven. He gets a mediocre Giants offense this week, and his weapons are finally getting back. For $7,500, I expect Wentz to be in the single-digits for ownership, especially on a slate with so many strong options.
Running Backs
Nick Chubb – $8,200 – Projection: 15.4
Nick Chubb is back from injury and while some might want to give him a week to get back to speed, I am looking to target him right away in tournaments. He was averaging 15 FD points per game in his last seven healthy games and gets a Houston defense allowing 144.9 rushing yards per game and 1.38 rushing touchdowns per game.
James Robinson – $7,300 – Projection: 15.5
I am going back to the well here with James Robinson, who was in the article last week. This is still a poor Packers defense, and Robinson has averaged the third-most fantasy points per game at the position over the last seven games. Green Bay is allowing 27.3 FD points per game to opposing running backs. $7,300 continues to be a nice price for someone who is top-ten in scoring this season.
Wide Receivers
Robert Woods – $7,200 – Projection: 14.1
Hard to not look at a Rams wide receiver this week in tournaments. The Goff-Cooper-Woods stack makes a lot of sense. Seattle has allowed 37.5 FD points per game to opposing wide receivers this season. Robert Woods is a strong play at $7,200, which isn’t a bad price for a top-two receiver against Seattle’s secondary. Los Angeles has a 28 implied total and while they will be targeted, this matchup is too good.
Will Fuller – $7,100 – Projection: 13.2
Will Fuller is a strong option to pair with Deshaun Watson this week. Cleveland’s secondary has been questionable and it has shown in the fantasy department as well. They are allowing 188 receiving yards per game, 1.5 touchdowns per game, and 29.5 fantasy points per game to receivers on the year. Fuller is averaging 13.9 FD points per game over the last seven games and has been a target hog in Houston.
John Brown – $5,600 – Projection: 10.2
Early in the week, John Brown hasn’t practiced yet but this should be expected given he was banged up earlier this season. This was the case last week and he came in and ripped off a strong game against Seattle as many have. Brown is a strong play this week against a Cardinals secondary that will throw Patrick Peterson on Stefon Diggs.
Tight End
Dallas Goedert – $5,800 – Projection: 9.5
As mentioned above the Eagles are getting healthier and Dallas Goedert returned the week before the bye, but had just one target. Goedert is a strong play when healthy and with no Zach Ertz still, he will be the lead tight end. New York hasn’t had a ton of production against them from this position, nor have they really faced a ton of teams using their tight ends in a featured role. He saw 16 targets in the two games against New York last season, and I’d expect decent volume this week.
Defense
Philadelphia Eagles – $4,600 – Projection: 8.9
Staying with Philadelphia, the Giants are allowing the 5th most fantasy points per game to opposing teams this season. With Daniel Jones the turnover machine under center, this is no surprise. At $4,600 and no runaway defense this week, the Eagles are worth a look. They have been a good fantasy defense averaging the 5th most fantasy points and are generating 28 sacks over the first eight games.
