Point Guard
De’Aaron Fox ($7,400) vs Magic– Fox has been playing great for the Kings as of late even though his 3 ball hasn’t been falling like he would hope. Coming into tonight’s game Fox is averaging 22.2 PPG 7.4 APG and 4.8 RPG which has been good for 45.3 FPPG in the last 5 games. The numbers don’t lie and paired with his defense, 2.4 APG, he is one of the best do it all players in tonight’s slate. The Magic don’t have much of a defense presence at the rim and I think Fox has too much athleticism for Fultz to contain him. Look for Fox to continue his excellent fantasy play for the Kings tonight at home.
Shooting Guard
Dennis Schroder ($5,400) vs Timberwolves– Schroder doesn’t start to the Thunder but he is a key scorer off the bench and at times runs the offense with the 2nd unit. He is averaging 17.5 PPG in the last 6 games along with 3.3 APG and 3.0 RPG. He won’t rack up the assists like fellow PG Chris Paul but he scores consistently enough to be a valuable option at only $5,400 in tonight’s slate. The Wolves defense is suspect at best and given the way they have been playing Schroder could be in for more run than usual tonight.
Small Forward
Brandon Ingram ($8,100) vs Pistons– Brandon Ingram has had a career year thus far in his first season with the Pelicans. He will enter tonight’s game averaging 24.3 PPG 6.0 APG and 5.5 RPG in the last 6 games for New Orleans. As a team they have been playing better lately which has allowed Ingram to boost his assist numbers over their most recent games. The big thing for his development has been the 3 point shot which he is shooting at a 40% clip in those 6 games. The Pistons haven’t been very good defending in their recent games and with their injuries it has been a struggle. Look for Ingram to take advantage at this price that I still feel like is a little low for what he has done this season.
Power Forward
Gordon Hayward ($6,200) vs Bulls– Celtics forward Gordon Hayward hasn’t been scoring points in bunches but he has done a little of it all for this do it all Boston team. He is shooting over 50% from the field in his last 6 games and has eclipsed the 30 FPTS mark in 7 of his last 8 games. The Bulls are allowing the 9th most FPTS to opposing forwards this season and overall have been one of the weaker defenses in the league as of late. Hayward has been too efficient to pass up at this price tonight at home vs Chicago.
Center
Andre Drummond ($10,300) vs Pelicans– Drummond has been subject to a lot of trade rumors as of late and his play has backed up why so many people have been interested in his services. Drummond was ejected early in their last game vs the Bulls but in his previous two games where he played his usual minutes he had 20 and 20 which is what he can do. Drummond is dominant on the glass and when he is getting the ball in the post he can have these monster games. Those games resulted in two 60 FPTS performances and with the Pelicans lack of size in the post he should be able to feast again tonight vs New Orleans.
Sleeper Play
Justin Holiday ($3,900) vs 76ers– Justin Holiday doesn’t have a huge role on the Pacers but as a fantasy option he can be a solid player on some nights especially when he is priced under $4,000. He hasn’t scored less than 22.25 FPTS in 3 of his last 4 games and in his last game vs the Sixers he was able to scored double digit points, he is only averaging 7.9 on the season. There is obviously risk here but at this price point if you are looking to save some salary for guys like Drummond I would take a look at the elder Holiday brother on the Pacers.
