Point Guard
Rajon Rondo ($4,800) vs Bucks– Rondo has battled some injuries this season but he has done a little bit of it all when he does play. In the last 3 games he is averaging 6 PPG 5.3 APG and 4.7 RPG which isn’t great but enough for 22 FPPG. The shooting will come along with the more playing time he gets so I wouldn’t be too worried about that. He play makes for others and with the Bucks missing defensive minded point guard Eric Bledsoe in this game there could be a lot of opportunity for Rondo to make some things happen. The Bucks are already allowing the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing PGs this season and a savvy veteran like Rondo will be able to take advantage of that.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell ($8,000) vs Hawks– Donovan Mitchell has been blistering hot shooting the basketball as of late with averages of 27.2 PPG on 52.9% from the field in his last 5 games for the Jazz. He has double digit field goal makes in 4 of his last 5 while adding around 4.4 RPG and 3.8 APG. The Hawks defense is awful and they are coming off of a game where they allowed 140 points to the Knicks. Conley is once again out with injury for the Jazz so we could see Mitchell have to distribute a little more which will only help his fantasy value in my opinion.
Small Forward
Bojan Bogdanovic ($6,700) vs Hawks– Another Jazz player I like tonight is sharp shooter Bojan Bogdanovic. In his last two games he has hit a combined 14 three pointers and scored over 40 FPTS. I’m simply riding the hot hand here and against this porous Hawks defense it feels like the right move. The Hawks are allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing forwards this season and when Bojan is shooting like this he is hard to pass up in this matchup.
Power Forward
Montrezl Harrell ($6,100) vs Rockets– Montrezl Harrell is probably one of the front runners for 6th man of the year at this point and for good reason. He comes into this one averaging 19.8 PPG and 5.8 RPG. He has been a beast on the offensive end and even though he isnt known as a rebounder if he needs to he can be down there to clean up the glass. Houston gets up a lot of shots so there should be more opportunity than usual for some offensive rebounds and with the way he is scoring this can be the perfect combination. He is priced very fairly in this small slate of games so he will be on my roster.
Center
Jarrett Allen ($6,500) vs Spurs– Jarrett Allen comes into this game averaging a double-double with 12.3 PPG and 10.5 RPG on the season and has been able to contribute pretty well while sharing time with veteran Deandre Jordan. He won’t score a lot of points but he will make up for it on the glass and on the defensive end. In their last game Allen finished with 12 PTS 13 REB and 6 blocked shots. He likely won’t get 6 blocks again but if he stays active this could be a solid night if he sticks around his averages. The Spurs lack athleticism in the front court so I think Allen will be able to take advantage of that.
Sleeper Play
Royce O’Neale ($4,100) vs Hawks– O’Neale has been getting a significant amount of playing time for the Jazz with the numerous injuries they have faced. Conley will now miss some more time after getting hurt again so we will likely see O’Neale around that 30 minute mark again. He is primarily a defender but he has scored in double digits in each of the last two games and no less than 24 FPTS. We know the Hawks defense is terrible so if there is ever a chance for him to continue on his streak of increased scoring it is in this spot. At only $4,100 there is some value here for a guy who plays so much.
