Point Guard
Chris Paul ($6,800) vs Spurs– Chris Paul is an all-star this year and for good reason. He has led the Thunder to a surprising record this season and they are right in the middle of the playoff race. Paul has been playing very well as of late, 19.0 PPG 7.3 APG and 5.0 RPG while shooting over 50% from the field. He won’t be scoring 20+ PPG but he does it all on both sides of the floor and runs the Thunder offense. The Spurs offense has been up and down this season and at this price I feel like there is lots of upside for CP3.
Shooting Guard
Furkan Korkmaz ($4,500) vs Clippers– The 76ers have needed some scoring from their role players and Korkmaz has stepped up to the plate. He has scored 30+ points in the last two games and has been lights out shooting the ball. In those two games he is 25/34 from the field and 13/20 from the 3 point line. His price is still very low tonight but it has increased over $1,000 since February 7th. The Clippers have a tough defense but when somebody is shooting it that well I find it hard to pass him up especially at this price point.
Small Forward
Robert Covington ($5,200) vs Celtics– Covington is a new member of the Rockets and I think he fits in perfectly in their “small ball” style of basketball that they are playing now. He has averaged almost 30 FPPG in his last 5 games and in two of the 3 games he has played with the Rockets he has hit at least 4 three pointers. He will only continue to get more comfortable in this offense and with Harden and Westbrook driving the lane constantly there will be lots of kick out 3 opportunities for him. At only $5,200 he should be able to get up enough shots and is active enough on the glass to be a valuable option in this spot.
Power Forward
Zion Williamson ($7,400) vs Trail Blazers– Zion has been nursing an ankle injury but he is expected to be in the starting lineup in their matchup vs the Blazers tonight. He hasn’t disappointed in his limited action this season and in his last 4 games Zion is averaging 21.5 PPG and 6.8 RPG while shooting over 50% from the field. He is a very efficient player and although he hasn’t been shooting the ball from deep he can easily make his impact near the rim. The Blazers are weak in the front court once you get past Hassan Whiteside so I believe Zion could have a big night at home in New Orleans.
Center
Hassan Whiteside ($8,100) vs Pelicans– Whiteside always finds his way in my lineup and that is no difference tonight vs the Pelicans, who rank 20th vs opposing centers on the DK this season. He hasn’t slowed down one bit, averaging 16.6 PPG 15.8 RPG and 3.4 BPG on over 70% shooting in his last 5 games. The Pelicans lack the defensive big man options that can hold Whiteside down and with the Blazers banged up he will have to get his if they want to win. At this price he is just too good to pass up in this spot.
Sleeper Play
Gary Trent Jr. ($4,400) vs Pelicans– Another Blazers player I like tonight is Gary Trent Jr. who hasn’t shown much this season but lately he has started to turn into a really effective bench scorer. He has put up 14 PPG in his last 6 games while shooting 50% from 3 and has scored over 29 FPTS in each of his last 3 games. He won’t do much other than score so there is some risk with this play but at this price I think he is a good low cost option if that is what you are in the market for.
