Point Guard
Markelle Fultz ($6,100) vs Nets– Fultz still doesn’t shoot a lot from the perimeter but he has been very effective in his last 3 games shooting from the field with his ability to get to the basket. He has had at least 8 assists in each of those 3 games and has shot over 55.6% in those 3 as well. The Nets are very soft defensive wise especially vs opposing PGs, 26thvs PGs on DK this season, so I think Fultz should be able to continue to do what he has done in his most recent games.
Shooting Guard
Malik Beasley ($6,000) vs Mavericks– Beasley was traded from Denver to Minnesota at the deadline and it looks like it was a great move for him career wise. In his first 5 games with the Wolves he is averaging 22.0 PPG 6.4 RPG while shooting 43% from behind the 3 point arc. He had shown flashes in Denver but with consistent playing time it looks like he could finally be showing the world what he can do. He has scored at least 33 FPTS in each of his last 3 games including a 40 FPTS game so against the Mavs at this price I feel like he should be on your roster.
Small Forward
Caris LeVert ($7,300) vs Magic– With Kyrie Irving out the Nets have needed some more scoring and playmaking and LeVert is one of the players who has stepped up in his absence. He has 3 straight games of over 37.25 FPTS and in his last two games he is averaging 21.0 PPG 4.5 RPG and 3.5 APG. LeVert can get buckets and has gotten a ton of shot attempts as of late so even though his price has risen $1,000 since February 8th I think he still has some value here vs the Magic at home.
Power Forward
Naz Reid ($5,800) vs Mavericks– The Wolves are in full tank mode so they have brought up some players looking at what they could offer in the future when they are fully healthy. On of those guys is Naz Reid who has played over 22 minutes in the last 3 games which he has not done all season long. The rookie has scored in double digits in each of those games including a masterful performance vs the Celtics when he scored 19 PTS and 9 REB. He has had some foul issues so that is worrisome but vs the Mavs who don’t have any bigs that draw a lot of fouls I think he should be safe. There is risk here with the lack of sample size but someone has to do something in Minnesota besides Malik Beasley.
Center
Joel Embiid ($9,500) vs Hawks– Embiid has come out of the all-star break looking great and putting up some solid numbers, 28 PPG and 13.5 RPG in the last 2 games. He will get an opportunity to go up against the Hawks tonight who have been really struggling guarding opposing centers all season long. They traded for Clint Capela at the deadline but he is likely out for a number of weeks and with their current bigs I’m not sure if they have anyone who can stop someone of Embiid’s talent. With Ben Simmons out as well, the floor should be wide open for Embiid to operate in this contest.
Sleeper Play
Bobby Portis ($4,000) vs Rockets– Bobby Portis hasn’t had significant and consistent playing time all season but he has starting to look better in his most recent games. He came out of the break and put up 19 PTS and 6 REB in 28 minutes which was one of his highest totals of the season. As long as he is active he has the ability to put up some solid fantasy numbers, especially for someone at this price point. The Rockets are obviously playing small ball right now and I think Portis is versatile enough to earn himself a good amount of minutes tonight on the road.
