Aaron Nola ($9,600) vs Padres– If we look at Aaron Nola’s ERA for the season we would think he has been struggling but over his last couple of starts he has rebounded and is looking like the quality pitcher we saw in previous years. He has 26 Ks in his last 18 innings and he will be going up against the struggling Padres who are one of the most strikeout prone teams in all of baseball. Overall in San Diego it think he should be able to rack up the Ks and put together yet another solid outing.
Walker Buehler ($8,900) vs Diamondbacks– Other than his last start vs the Mets, Walker Buehler had been pitching well with 3 straight starts of 1 ER or less allowed. We saw last year that Buehler can be an elite level option so I am willing to overlook that blip vs the Mets and take him for the pitcher he is. He won’t go deep into most games but he will rack up a good number of Ks which is what I like about him in this slate of only 4 games. The Diamondbacks got him for 5 ER in 3 innings in their last meeting and I expect him to have learned from the experience tonight on the road.
Bryce Harper ($5,200) vs Padres– We are all aware of Harper’s struggles but over the last couple games he has really started to hit it better. He has 4 multi-hit games in the last 6 with 9 RBI’s. He will be in San Diego tonight vs Eric Lauer who has been pitching well but he doesn’t go deep into games. The Padres bullpen other than Kirby Yates has been struggling so there should be plenty of options for Harper to hit his value at this price.
David Fletcher ($4,300) vs Cubs– David Fletcher has been doing nothing but hit for the Angels, coming into tonight’s game he is on a 12 game hit streak. He doesn’t offer much power but he has been scoring runs stealing bases and has knocked in a decent amount of runs. With 3B and OF eligibility in DK he should easily be able to grab a spot in your lineup. Against Jon Lester, who has been allowing tons of hits lately, Fletcher should be able to build on his streak again this afternoon.
Josh Reddick ($3,900) vs Mariners– Astros OF Josh Reddick will be going up against a familiar face in Wade LeBlanc tonight in Seattle. In 15 career ABs vs LeBlanc he is hitting .467 with 3 2B 1 HR and a BB. With the numerous injuries in the Astros lineup Reddick is going to be one of the guys they call on and so far he has done pretty well. IN the last 4 games Reddick has 3 R 2 HR and 4 RBI’s. I like Reddick tonight vs a pitcher who he has seen well over the years.
Chris Taylor ($3,400) vs Diamondbacks– To keep the trend of playing well vs a pitcher I like Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor against lefty Robbie Ray tonight in Arizona. In 27 career PAs Taylor is hitting .360 against the left hander. He is coming off of a solid game last night with 1 R 1 RBI and 1 SB so I see no issue paying only $3,400 for Taylor tonight in this really small slate of games against Robbie Ray who has been offering up a lot of baserunners over his last couple of starts.
