Top Pitchers
Noah Syndergaard ($9,200) vs Giants– We have thought this multiple times this season but could the old Thor be back??? After a solid 7 innings 9 K performance many have been led to believe this could be a turning point for Syndergaard who has struggled for a lot of this season. He will be up against an average Giants roster who he did well against in their last meeting allowing 3 ER in 6.2 innings pitched. If he can build on his performance in his last start with 9 Ks he will be very valuable at this $9,200 spot.
Wade Miley ($8,200) vs Angels– Miley has continued to be solid in the middle of the rotation for the Astros this season. He has only allowed 1 ER in two of his last 3 starts and in his last 10 starts he has only allowed more than 3 ER once. He usually hangs around 5 or 6 Ks a game and has gone decently deep into most of his starts this season. Tonight he will be up against the Angels who he went 6 innings and allowed 2 ER against in his last meeting. The Astros are also a very good team so it will be a bonus if they can pull through and get a division win for Miley tonight.
Top Hitters
Freddie Freeman (4,900) vs Nationals– Freeman has gone 0 for in his last 2 starts but he will face a familiar face tonight with Stephen Strasburg on the mound for the Nationals. In 63 career PAs vs him Freeman is hitting .340 with six 2Bs 4 HRs and 7 BBs. You can’t beat those numbers and with a guy hitting almost .300 with 25 HR and 70+ RBI’s on the season getting him at under $5,000 feels like a steal in my opinion.
Francisco Lindor ($4,400) vs Tigers– Lindor comes into tonight’s games with 2 R 1 HR and 3 RBI’s in his last two games and has a hit in 4 of his last 5 contests. Much like Freeman, Lindor has played well against the opposing SP with Matthew Boyd taking the hill for the Tigers tonight. Lindor is hitting .375 with two 2Bs and 2 HRs vs Boyd in 24 career ABs. Lindor is an elite hitter and Boyd has been getting touched up a little bit allowing 4 ERs or more in each of his last 5 starts this season.
Todd Frazier ($3,500) vs Giants– Mets 3B Todd Frazier has done nothing exciting this year but over the last 10 games he has been getting on base very well reaching at least 1 time in 9 of those games. He went 2/5 in his last game so we know the bat can still do a little bit of something and against Madison Bumgarner Frazier is hitting a cool .412 with 2 HRs and a walk in 18 PAs. If you are looking to save some cash for a star player Frazier could be a great low cost option to help you in that regard.
Jose Peraza ($3,400) vs Cardinals– Peraza’s playing time has been sporadic but he has been making the most of his opportunities as of late. He has a hit in 6 of his last 6 games with 5 R 1 HR and 6 RBI’s. He is dirt cheap tonight and he is a proven hitter in his career. His extremely slow start killed his average but if you can get Peraza at a price like this while he is hitting well that’s a no brainer in my opinion.
