Top Pitchers
David Price ($9,300) vs Orioles– David Price has been pitching great for the Red Sox as of late posting a 1.80 ERA in his last two starts and he has only allowed more than 2 ER one time in his last 11 appearances. Tonight he will get a generous matchup against the Orioles who he dominated in their last meeting when he threw 7 scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts and 0 walks. With some star power at the top in today’s slate I think we are getting a more than fair price for Price tonight.
Jhoulys Chacin ($5,500) vs Diamondbacks– For a veteran who owns a 2.45 ERA in his last two starts getting him at only $5,500 feels like an ultra-steal. Obviously he has had his issues this season but he looks to have figured some things out and has been limiting the damage. He has some experience vs NL West opponents so he should have an idea of what he has to do. Chacin has averaged 16.5 FPTS in his last 3 starts and if we get somewhere near that it will be a win because of how low he is priced tonight.
Top Hitters
George Springer ($5,100) vs Rangers– George Springer is starting to get hot at the right time for the Astros and for DFS players. He comes into tonight’s game with 6 R 4 HR and 7 RBI’s in his last 4 games and has since raised his average to over the .300 mark. I don’t think he will slow down tonight vs Rangers SP Mike Minor who Springer is hitting .409 against with two 2Bs 1 HR and 6 BBs against in 29 career PAs. I have no issues laying this kind of price on Springer when he is hitting it this well.
Trea Turner ($4,700) vs Braves– I like Turner for a lot of the same reasons I like Springer tonight. Turner has at least 1 hit in 11 of his last 13 games and we all know he is a threat to swipe a lot of bags. His matchup is also nice going up against Julio Teheran who he is hitting .467 against in 17 career PAs. He may not knock in a lot of runs but the other things that Turner brings to the table makes him a valuable option even at a $4,700 price point.
Nate Lowe ($4,200) vs White Sox– Recently Nate Lowe’s playing time has increased and he has taken major advantage of it. He comes into tonight’s game 11 for his last 23 with 6 R 3 HR and 8 RBI’s. He hasn’t slowed down either lately going 3/3 yesterday vs the Yankees. Lowe is hitting it so good right now and against Reynaldo Lopez, who has been giving up a lot of hits lately, there is no reason to believe it’s going to start slowing up now.
Justin Upton ($3,900) vs Mariners– Justin Upton has found his way into my lineup a lot lately because he has consistently put up points, he hasn’t scored less than 2 FPTS in each of his last 10 games. That could make him valuable to you if he stays under the $4,000 price point. However, I think he could have a big offensive game tonight against Mariners SP Mike Leake. In 37 career PAs vs Leake he is hitting .424 with a 2B, 3B, and HR vs the righty. He also really struggled in his last start vs the Angels giving up 8 hits in only 0.2 IP. While I expect him to last longer tonight he still has given up way too many hits this season. Upton is a great low priced OF option tonight.
