Top Pitchers
Ryan Yarbrough ($9,300) vs Orioles– Yarbrough has been a pleasant surprise for the Rays, a team that just churns out pitchers constantly. He has been excellent as of late only allowing 1 ER in his last 19.2 innings with 23 strikeouts. He has also shown the ability to go deep into games, 8.2 innings in a 3 hit shutout over the Mariners. In his last start vs the Orioles he was excellent fantasy wise scoring 27.1 FPTS on the road. He limits the hits and has K potential so even though his price continues to rise every start he has earned it and I will have him on my roster tonight.
Kenta Maeda ($8,100) vs Blue Jays– Maeda has shifted a lot this year between the bullpen and the starting rotation but he will be starting tonight vs the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have some weapons to be aware of but overall they own an average offense. Maeda hasn’t been able to go deep into many games but his K numbers have been up in his starts. He had 9 Ks in only 4.2 innings vs the Braves in their last meeting. I think he will be sharper against a young swing heavy Blue Jays team tonight and I am betting on him surpassing his 17.1 FPTS scored in his last start.
Top Hitters
DJ LeMahieu ($4,800) vs Athletics– To no one’s surprise, DJ LeMahieu just keeps hitting. Coming into tonight’s game he has 12 hits in his last 8 starts and has shown some power with 3 HR and 6 RBIs in those games. You are picking him for his ability to hit and in my opinion LeMahieu is one of the best in the league at that and has a really high floor in each of his starts. Tanner Roark hasn’t been bad since joining the Athletics but he has given up a lot of baserunners and that will come to bite him eventually and I think that night is tonight vs the Yankees.
Amed Rosario ($4,200) vs Indians– Former top prospect Amed Rosario seems to have finally figured it out and has become one of the better hitters on the Mets roster. Coming into tonight’s game Rosario has a hit in 6 of his last 7 games and has been producing at a high rate with 6 RBI and 8 R in that time span. He has speed so he is also a threat on the base paths. With the way he is hitting it I just don’t see a reason not to roster him especially at this pretty decent price tonight vs a young pitcher.
Cameron Maybin ($4,000) vs Athletics– With all the injuries to the Yankees this season OF Cameron Maybin has been seeing a lot more time than he was expected to earlier in the season, and he has done well with it. Coming into tonight’s game he is hitting right around .300 and is always a threat to do some damage because of the Yankees lineup playing so well as of late. He’s only had 8 PAs vs Oakland starter Tanner Roark but he has played well hitting .571 with a double and a walk. Like I said with LeMahieu, Roark is giving up a lot of baserunners and I think that blows up for him tonight.
Victor Reyes ($3,500) vs Astros– Reyes isn’t a household name but in limited action for the Tigers he has done well. In his last 8 starts Reyes has 5 multi-hit games and has scored 6 R with a homer and 4 RBIs. He isn’t a big power guy but he is hitting it well and comes at a very cheap price tonight vs Astros SP Gerrit Cole who hasn’t pitched in a couple weeks due to a hamstring injury. If you want to take a shot on a “unknown” guy I think Reyes is a great option in the outfield.
