DraftKings Value GPP Picks Week 5: Antonio Gibson Hype
Week 5 has tons of explosive matchups. With two Monday Night Football games, it might interest you to play the Sun-Mon slate. This week I am giving you a player from Sunday Night Football that I think has ridiculous value to play in that lineup. Keep reading to find the players this week that I am predicting to cash-in huge performances, and use them to build your GPP tournament plays around.

RB Plays of the Week
James Robinson
($6,700) @ Houston Texans
The Houston Texans were just demolished on the ground by Dalvin Cook. While James Robinson is not at the same talent level as Cook, he does have a better offensive line and can still do wonders in this matchup. Robinson has proven himself as one of the top RBs in fantasy, and look for him in both the air and ground game to rip off chunk play after chunk play in this plus matchup. At $6,700 I think that you are possibly getting the RB1 on the week, with just as much upside as Zeke or Cook, without having to spend the same amount of cash.
Antonio Gibson
($5,000) Vs Los Angeles Rams
Antonio Gibson is the perfect cheap flex option for the week. Coming off of back-to-back impressive performances, he gets an extremely favorable matchup against the Rams’ defense. While Aaron Donald is always terrifying, the Rams’ weakness is their linebackers. For Antonio Gibson, this means that he will be able to find holes in the running game and have extremely favorable matchups when he runs routes. I fully expect this to be the game that skyrockets Gibson’s price in DK and secures himself as a solid RB2/RB1 rest of the season. It would also be great to see a significant snap increase; however, that is not needed as long as the touches flow in.
Mike Davis
($6,400) @ Atlanta Falcons
Everyone on the Panthers is a great value this week. I am not sure how highly owned Davis will be due to the $6,400 price point. However, similarly to Robinson, I think that Mike Davis is one of 4 or 5 RBs who can finish as the RB1. Davis has been impressive in his two starts, and now is playing the worst defense in the NFL. There should be plenty of offense in this game and plenty of chances for Davis to score TDs. The trio of Davis, Gibson, and Robinson may be a great contrarian stack of RBs for your roster, especially since they simply do not have the name value.
WR Plays of the Week
DJ Chark
($6,500) @ Houston Texans
DJ Chark seems to be flying a bit under the radar if you listen to DFS Twitter. Chark has a great matchup that saw both Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson nab 100 yards in last week’s game. It is clear that Minshew sees Chark as his best WR both down the field and in the red zone, the most two valuable plays to be targeted. DJ Chark is not at an insane value when it comes to price; however, this could end up being in your favor when playing GPP. It is still easy to build a great lineup with Chark in it, and hopefully, less players will look his way as he creeps in on the price of other top WRs. It is all about home run plays in GPP, but it is always better to hit those home runs by yourself.
Justin Jefferson
($5,500) @ Seattle Seahawks (SNF)
Justin Jefferson is my must start of the week if you are playing the Sun-Mon set of games. He might be a little chalky but the value is insane. You are basically getting a WR1 on the week at $5,500. There is no telling if Jefferson or Thielen will score more points, but similarly to Lockett and Metcalf, they are both going to be good. This matchup is going to be a shootout. There is no doubt about that. Justin Jefferson is one of the safest and highest ceiling plays for under $6,500, let alone at $5,500. Put him in your cash lineups and make sure to find a lineup for him in GPP.
TE Play of the Week
Ian Thomas
($3,400) @ Atlanta Falcons
Another Panther on this list and for good reason. Ian Thomas got a bit of a boost to his opportunity last week with 5 targets, hauling one of those in for a score. Now he gets to go against the worst defense against the TE position. At $3,400 he allows you to spend up at RB, and should still provide you with a solid baseline. There is a real possibility that Thomas gets multiple scores this week. I also believe that his normal usage between the 20s will see an increase against this pathetic LB core and secondary.
DEF Play of the Week
Washington Football Team
($2,600) Vs Los Angeles Rams
For the third time already this year I am recommending The Washington Football Team’s defense. It has hit huge once, in Week 1, and backfired once in Week 3. However, even when Washington’s DST has failed you, it has not been the fault of the unit. It has been because Dwayne Haskins turned the ball over 3-4 times on his own side of the field. Luckily, Washington has now moved on from Haskins.
In this matchup, I believe that Goff will struggle to get anything going. This is the biggest test that his offensive line has had to face, and I do not like their chances. Goff is not good with pressure in his face. On top of this, I do not see Darrell Henderson or Malcolm Brown getting going, meaning that the Rams will be facing tons of passing downs where Washington can bring the house. One of my top 8 DST plays this week, for only $2,600.
Stack of the Week
Teddy Bridgewater & Any Panthers WR
($5,900) @ Atlanta Falcons
This is a little bit of a cheat code since you can pick the QB and WR going up against the Falcons any week and it would be a good play. However, with Teddy’s ridiculously cheap price point this one is a no-brainer. Teddy will not only be able to pass all over this defense, but he could probably rush for 50 yards and maybe a score as well. I believe that Robby Anderson is probably your best pick to stack with Teddy, but this could be DJ Moore’s breakout for the 2020 season. Make a lineup with one of each and see what happens. Either way, you probably will love the results when you paid $5,900 for a top 3-5 QB on the week.
