NBA DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks 2/21/20

Point Guard

Jamal Murray ($7,100) vs Thunder Jamal Murray was probably one of the few players that wished the all-star break didn’t come this past week. He scored 30+ PTS in 3 of his last 4 games before the break and didn’t score less than 40 FPTS in this games. Murray has been on fire with his shot and with the Nuggets a little banged up he has had a big green light to let it fly. He shot over 20 times in 3 of those 4 games and even if we don’t get there tonight I think he is shooting it well enough and running a better point guard than usual so I won’t pass him up in this spot.

Shooting Guard

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($6,400) vs NuggetsGilgeous-Alexander has been one of the biggest surprises this season on an OKC team that has surprised a lot of people as well. He hasn’t scored less than 17 PTS in 5 straight games and is one of the best rebounding guards in all of the NBA. He won’t go out and put up 50 FPTS on any given night but against the Nuggets in the first game out of the break he should be able to get some things going with their lack of post defense to cover his drives.

Small Forward

Josh Hart ($5,200) vs Trail BlazersHart doesn’t score a lot of points but he does the dirty work for the Pelicans and he is very capable of hitting a couple shots from outside the arc. He averaged 12 PTS and 7 REB on 57% shooting in his final two games before the all-star break and has consistently been active on the glass. The Blazers defense in the backcourt is suspect at best and isn’t the most physical so I believe Hart will be able to put up some solid numbers tonight for a guy in this price range.

Power Forward

Gordon Hayward ($7,000) vs TimberwolvesIt took a while but it looks like Hayward is back at full strength and has been a key contributor in the Celtics offense. Kemba Walker will be out for Boston in this game so it is likely we will see Hayward in a more playmaking role which is where we have seen him thrive in certain situations this season. He stuffs the stat sheet every night and has grabbed double digit rebounds in 2 of the last 3 including 4+ assists per game. The Wolves defense is one of the worst in the league and I think Hayward will be able to take advantage of that tonight.

Center

Hassan Whiteside ($9,200) vs PelicansWhiteside finds his way into my lineup again this week and I fully expect him to play like he did before the all-star break. The Blazers will be taking on the Pelicans again, a team who Whiteside put 17 and 14 on in their last matchup on February 11th. The Pelicans are weak at the center position so someone with the skills of Whiteside should easily be able to put some of those numbers up again as long as he stays out of foul trouble. Roster Whiteside with confidence tonight.

Sleeper Play

Derrick White ($4,100) vs JazzDerrick White has been playing around 22 minutes this season and has been a bit inconsistent for his Spurs team. However, he did close out the first half of the season well averaging 16 PPG and 6.0 APG in the final two games before the break and he has been shooting it at a fairly high percentage. He scored 37 FPTS in their last game and he was able to reach double digit points scored in their last game vs the Jazz as well. White is fairly cheap tonight and I am willing to take a shot on him to continue his run of solid play.
