Point Guard
Malcolm Brogdon ($7,300) vs Trail Blazers– Victor Oladipo is still banged up and comes into this questionable, but either way I like Brogdon in this matchup. He will be asked to score early in often with the Pacers injury issues and he is fully capable of shouldering that load. He’s scored 30+ FPTS in 3 of the last 4 games and is coming off a solid 15 PTS 7 AST and 6 REB performance. He contributes everywhere on the offensive end and against the Blazers, who have one of the worst defenses vs guards in the NBA, he should be able to put up a good number tonight.
Shooting Guard
Aaron Holiday ($4,800) vs Trail Blazers– Aaron Holiday minutes fluctuate a lot on this Pacers team but with Jeremy Lamb going down with a season ending injury players like Holiday will be forced to step up. He averages over 11 PPG when he plays more than 15 minutes and with 2 games in a row over 30 minutes we should likely see him get a lot of playing time tonight. He comes in at a great price and against the Blazers he could easily find some open shots and return well over value here.
Small Forward
Harrison Barnes ($5,300) vs Thunder– Barnes has been overpaid for pretty much his entire NBA career after he left Golden State but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t some good spots for him to be on your DFS roster. He has been playing heavy minutes, no less than 38 in the last 3 games, and that has translated to over 32 FPTS per game. In those 3 games he is shooting 61.5% from the field and 54.5% from the 3 point line which is outstanding for any player. He still won’t give you much other than scoring but when he is shooting it this well getting him at only $5,300 feels like it is worth the risk.
Power Forward
Domantas Sabonis ($9,100) vs Trail Blazers– A lot of people questioned Domantas Sabonis being an all-star but he has definitely played like one especially since the all-star break. In the Pacers 3 games since the break Sabonis is averaging 19.7 PPG 13.0 RPG and 5.7 APG on 52% shooting from the field. He is one of the best passing big men in the NBA and is a monster on the glass which leads to easy points. The Blazers come into this game ranked dead last on DK against opposing PF/C’s so someone at Sabonis’ level will be on my roster.
Center
Julius Randle ($7,800) vs 76ers– After a tough game vs the Pacers, Julius Randle has put together two great games and looks to be back to his usual form. Randle reminds me a lot of Sabonis but he is just a little less polished. He is averaging 19 PPG 9.6 RPG and 3.2 APG this season and as the season has gone on he just gets better and better. It is a possibility that the 76ers will be without Joel Embiid in this game so that should also help Randle because he loves to drive into the lane and outmuscle his opponents. At only $7,800 Randle is almost a sure bet to get a double-double and without Embiid on the floor this is a great matchup for him.
Sleeper Play
Dennis Smith Jr. ($4,200) vs 76ers– Another Knicks player who has been forgotten about is Dennis Smith Jr. who moved to the Knicks in the Porzingis trade last season. It has been a season to forget for him but it looks like they are finally starting to give him some playing time. He has 2 straight games of over 20 minutes and has gotten 12 shot attempts in both of those contests. He will only continue to get comfortable as he plays more so at this price I am willing to take a shot on the young guard who has shown in the past he can pop at any moment.
