NBA DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks 2/6/20

Point Guard
Markelle Fultz ($6,100) vs Knicks– Fultz didn’t play well last night vs the stingy Celtics defense but in the 2nd game of a back to back vs the dreaded Knicks I believe he will be able to bounce back. Despite his poor performance he is still averaging 9.8 PPG and 8.0 APG on 50% shooting in the last 4 games for Orlando. His assist numbers have gone up in recent weeks and even though he isn’t much of a threat shooting the ball he can drive very well and get to the foul line. I wouldn’t be too worried about yesterday’s performance and I would roster him confidently in New York tonight.
Shooting Guard
Josh Hart ($4,900) vs Bulls– Josh Hart continues to do a little bit of everything for the Pelicans off the bench. He has scored 30+ FPTS in his last two games and hasn’t scored less than 26 in 5 of his last 6 games. His shot didn’t fall in their last game but he was able to offset that with 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals which is a good sign for us when his shot actually falls. The rebounding numbers are up there with some PFs and his abilities to do everything means we could be in for a big night tonight vs the Bulls. I am expecting him to keep up with what he has been doing in his most recent games.
Small Forward
LeBron James ($10,400) vs Rockets– LeBron is obviously one of the highest priced players in tonight’s slate and for good reason. He is a MVP candidate this season and he comes into this game averaging 54.6 FPPG while shooting 47.6% from behind the arc. While I don’t expect him to hit 6 threes like he did the other night, it is still a good sign to see that shot falling. The Lakers will take on the Rockets tonight who are allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to PG/SF’s this season and with numerous new faces due to a recent trade it is unclear how they will mesh together. LeBron is one of the best players in the league so I have no issue paying this price for him tonight.
Power Forward
P.J. Tucker ($6,200) vs Lakers– P.J. Tucker is the Rockets “center” for the time being as they move to a real small ball starting lineup. He hasn’t seen much of a difference scoring the ball but he should be around for more rebounds than usual, 9+ in 4 of his last 5 games. Depending on how opposing teams play he could get more open looks from 3 if a center is forced to make a decision to stop the drive or go out and guard him. His shot wasn’t going down but he was able to grab 8 rebounds in the Rockets last matchup vs the Lakers and I expect him to have a better night tonight on the road.
Center
Hassan Whiteside ($8,000) vs Spurs– Whiteside let us down when we had him on our roster the other night vs the Nuggets getting in foul trouble and only playing 23 minutes. He should be able to get back to usual tonight vs the Spurs. Despite that poor performance he is still averaging 18.2 PPG 12.6 RPG and 4.0 BPG while shooting 75% from the field in the last 5 games and is one of the best shot blockers in the NBA. The Spurs are a middle tier defense vs big men this year and with so much attention on Lillard with the way he is playing he should be able to be dominant as long as he stays out of foul trouble.
Sleeper Play
Patty Mills ($3,900) vs Trail Blazers– After Patty Mills hit 6 threes vs the Clippers he didn’t do as well in their last game going 1-7 vs a good Lakers defense. The Blazers defense is much weaker and I expect him to get back to scoring double digits with lots of threes like we saw in the previous 4 games before this last one. The Blazers are allowing the 2nd most FPTS to opposing guards so at only $3,900 I am willing to take a shot on Mills.
