NBA DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks 3/4/21

Point Guard
Kemba Walker ($7,200) vs Raptors- Is the Kemba Walker we know from previous seasons back??? It looks like he may. In the last 4 games, Kemba is averaging 24.8 PPG 5.8 APG with 4.0 RPG, and has shot it at over 42.5% from behind the arc. With 3 straight games of 41+ FPTS, it looks like he could be rounding into form as we head into the all-star break and the 2nd half of the season. The Raptors are severely undermanned due to COVID and this will be their back end of a back-to-back. Kemba is priced pretty low compared to other above-average guards in this slate, so while he is playing well I’ll happily put him in my lineup.
Shooting Guard
De’Anthony Melton ($4,700) vs Bucks- With some injuries to members of the Grizzlies backcourt, Melton has found some more playing time and it is paying off. In the last 3 games where he has 22+ minutes, Melton is averaging 32.5 FPTS and he is coming off of a game where he knocked down 6 three-pointers. He is shooting the 3 balls at over a 41% clip this year so he may not hit 6 again, but he is a very capable shooter. At this price, you can’t beat Melton and even if some guys start to come back for Memphis he may have earned himself some more minutes in the future.
Small Forward
DeMar DeRozan ($8,200) vs Thunder- DeRozan continues to thrive as one of the lead playmakers for the Spurs offense. He has 11 assists in each of San Antonio’s last 3 games and in those games, he hasn’t scored less than 40 FPTS. He will have a great matchup vs an OKC team that played last night and is giving up the 3rd most FPTS to opposing forwards this season on DK. It is the day before the all-star break so with a lot of veterans I would watch to see if they are in the lineup. But if DeRozan is a full go, I love him in this spot to fill up the stat sheet vs the Thunder.
Power Forward
Michael Porter Jr. ($6,800) vs Pacers- Porter Jr. is hard to gauge because he hasn’t been very consistent this year but one thing he will always do is get his shots up. But the more surprising thing that we have seen lately is his work on the glass. MPJ has 10+ rebounds in 4 of his last 5 games, which is great for a guy only averaging 6.9 on the season. That paired along with his 55.9% from the field and 50% from 3 numbers he should be due for a great game to close out the first half of the season. At this price, I think Michael Porter Jr. is worth a very long look if you need a capable forward with a lot of upside.
Center
Jakob Poeltl ($6,200) vs Thunder- Jakob Poeltl definitely doesn’t have the flashiest game but he sure does put up numbers that are great for fantasy owners. He comes into this game averaging 8.8 PPG 10.0 RPG 2.5 APG as well as 2.0 BPG. This is good for over 30 FPTS and with 30+ minutes in each of the last two games, we could expect even more if he is given that playing time again. The Thunder are really lacking in the post-player department, and with Al Horford sitting most back-to-backs he likely won’t be playing in tonight’s contest. I wouldn’t hesitate to put Poeltl in my lineup if I was in the market for a middle-tier level center.
Sleeper Play
Dario Saric ($3,900) vs Warriors- Dario Saric has missed a lot of time due to injury this season but since his most recent return, he has been playing some good basketball. He is averaging 13.5 PPG 5.3 RPG while shooting 46.7% from behind the arc in the last 4 games. Saric got to play a lot more in the Suns last game due to Devin Booker’s ejection but I still think he will play enough to be fantasy relevant for a player at this price. With over 25 FPPG in the last 5, I would take a chance with Saric priced under $4,000.
