Top Pitchers
Sandy Alcantara ($8,300) vs Nationals– Alcantara has probably been the best pitcher for the Marlins this year and he comes into this one having strung a very good string of starts together. He has only allowed more than 1 run in 1 of his last 5 starts and has gone 7+ innings in two of those. He usually hovers around 5 or 6 Ks a game so nothing spectacular but in a slate with only 4 games that could turn out to be one of the best lines of the night. Top pitcher Stephen Strasburg has been shaky and the 2nd highest priced pitcher tonight Walker Buehler has a start in Colorado so Alcantara feels like the move tonight.
Tanner Anderson ($6,700) vs Angels– Sticking with some value options new A’s starter Tanner Anderson will be pitching vs the Angels tonight. He has made 3 starts for Oakland and has done alright allowing 7 total runs. He has not gone terribly deep into games but he just hasn’t been efficient enough. Like I said the pitching is pretty weak here and if Anderson can go to the mound and get me 15 FPTS that will be a solid outing for me.
Top Hitters
Charlie Blackmon ($5,700) vs Dodgers– Blackmon has been struggling a little bit on the Rockies most recent road trip but he will head back to the friendly hitting park of Coors Field tonight against the Dodgers. In his last series at Coors Blackmon netted 15 hits in 4 games with 4 HRs and 10 RBI’s. While that is unlikely to happen we all know Coors can be a great spot for hitters to get back on track and Blackmon is too good of a hitter to stay down too long.
Chris Taylor ($5,300) vs Rockies– Taylor has continued to hit and his price has skyrocket over the past week or so and even more now that he is going up to Colorado. He has at least a hit in 8 of his last 9 games and has had at least 1 RBI in 9 of his last 10 total games. He will be going up against rookie Peter Lambert tonight who he has limited experience against going ½ with a single. Lambert has been giving up hits in bunches in his most recent starts so I expect a solid night out of Taylor in this one.
Ramon Laureano ($3,900) vs Angels– Laureano is mostly known for his defense and is in a bit of hitting slump coming into this one but I am hoping he can break out of that slump against a familiar faced pitcher tonight. In 5 career PAs Laureano has 3 hits including 2 doubles and a home run. He has killed the ball off this guy and if there was any chance to roster Laureano I think it’s tonight in this small slate at an under $4,000 price tag.
Miguel Rojas ($3,000) vs Nationals– Rojas has been a solid hitter for the Marlins this year and he gets on base pretty frequently. Coming into tonight’s game he has gotten on base in 14 of his last 15 games and he has 4 hits in his last 3 contests. Also, against Stephen Strasburg he has seen it pretty well hitting .316 with 2 BB against him in 22 career PAs. You can’t beat this price for such a high floor guy in a 4 games slate so I am definitely going to have Rojas in my lineup tonight.
