Point Guard
Luka Doncic ($12,300) vs Trail Blazers– The slate tonight is pretty thin and Luka is the highest priced player available. It is a steep price to pay but given what there is tonight I don’t think we can afford missing out on his production vs Portland. Luka is averaging 27 PPG 9.8 RPG and 9.4 APG in his last 5 games and even though he isn’t shooting it great from the field he still fills up the stat sheet because he is involved with everything in the Mavs offense. The Blazers defense is very suspect, ranking 27th vs opposing PGs this season, so I think Luka should be able to have his way on the road tonight.
Shooting Guard
Anfernee Simons ($4,500) vs Mavericks– Sticking with the same game I think Simons could have some value now that the Blazers have traded away Kent Bazemore this past week. They did bring in Trevor Ariza but he hasn’t shown to be a volume shooter in recent years. Simons played 46 minutes in the Blazers last game and has scored over 22 FPTS in 2 of his last 3. He is a shooter through and through and he is going to get his shots up whenever he is on the court. Simons price is a little higher than usual but in a small 3 game slate you need to take some risks and I think Simons could offer a good return.
Small Forward
Caris LeVert ($4,900) vs Lakers– LeVert has returned recently after missing a lot of time to the Nets lineup and he has started to play better even though his shooting hasn’t come around. He scored 16 PTS 6 REB and 6 AST and has shown in previous years that he can do a little bit of everything on the floor. The Lakers have a solid defense but given the state of the Nets offense they are going to need LeVert to continue to get shots up and play make with the 2nd unit so I like him here at a price under $5,000.
Power Forward
Kevin Love ($8,100) vs Wizards– Love is the 2nd highest priced PF on tonight’s slate at only $8,100 but if he can get his shot falling tonight vs a very bad Wizards defensive team he should far exceed his value in this spot. He is averaging 20 PPG and 9.8 RPG in his last 5 games but his shooting has cooled down, 40.7% from the field. Love has a great shot so it’s only a matter of time before he gets it going and even when he has not played well he is still almost averaging a double-double with 20 PPG. Love in this spot vs a team with a weak front court is too much to pass up.
Center
Larry Nance Jr. ($5,100) vs Wizards– I also like Love’s backup in this game, Larry Nance Jr. He has played well since returning from injury and has put up at least 20 FPTS in 3 straight games for the Cavs. He is coming off a 12 PTS 10 REB game as well and is very active on both ends of the floor for a Cleveland team that isn’t in a lot of games. He shoots it at a high clip, 66.7% in the last 5 games, so I think with some extended run here he could play pretty well vs the Wizards. If you are looking for somebody who could be low ownership Nance is a guy to keep your eye on.
Sleeper Play
Boban Marjanovic ($3,900) vs Trail Blazers– With Mavs starting center Dwight Powell going down with a season ending injury, Boban played 16 minutes and was 5/6 from the field with 12 PTS and 7 REBs. It has been well documented that Boban is one of the most efficient players in the NBA but he can never play enough minutes due to his poor pick and roll defense. However, the Mavs haven’t signed anybody at this point so Boban could see some extended playing time vs the Blazers here. He has scored double digit points in each of his last 4 games so I think he will be able to extend that streak.
