Point Guard
Colin Sexton ($6,700) vs Pistons– There still isn’t a lot of value with Sexton passing the ball but he has continued to get buckets at a high level for the Cavs and he has been shooting it very well from behind the arc. He comes into tonight’s game vs the Pistons averaging 23.6 PPG 4.4 RPG and 3.8 APG while shooting 48.1% from behind the 3 point line in the last 5 games. He scored 36 FPTS in his last game vs the Pistons 8 games ago but I expect him to improve on that tonight. The Pistons defense is mediocre and Sexton is going to be hard to stop when he is hitting his shot as well as he has been in their most recent games.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell ($7,900) vs Rockets– The Jazz keep playing well and the main part of that success has been Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell is averaging 28.2 PPG and 4.8 RPG in the last 5 games and he has been instant offense for the Jazz. The Jazz will take on the Rockets tonight who are allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing guards this season and have had a difficult time stopping anybody. Getting Mitchell at under $8,000 is a steal in my opinion and his ownership may be very high in this spot but there is too much potential for him to have a huge night.
Small Forward
Joe Ingles ($5,400) vs Rockets– Joe Ingles hasn’t been scoring that well lately but he is doing pretty much everything else. He is averaging 8.0 PPG 7.6 APG 5.0 RPG and 1.0 SPG in his last 5 games and we know he can be a threat from behind the arc, shooting 42% this season. He has a very high floor with his do it all mentality and against the Rockets anything can happen. At only $5,400 Ingles is a good middle tier option with the ability to put up a big number if he can get that shot falling from behind the arc a couple of times.
Power Forward
LaMarcus Aldridge ($7,200) vs Bulls– Aldridge didn’t play well last night vs the Raptors but he still recorded a double-double and is still averaging 21.3 PPG and 7.0 RPG over his last 6 games. He isn’t a big threat behind the arc either but he will get his shots up and is one of the most lethal forwards in the mid-range. The Bulls are banged up in the front court and they come into this game allowing the 2nd most FPTS to PF/C’s this season on DK so I expect a veteran like Aldridge to be able to bounce back and have a good game tonight on the road in Chicago.
Center
Larry Nance Jr. ($5,400) vs Pistons– Larry Nance hasn’t been starting games for the Cavs but he is a key contributor off the bench and has recorded 3 straight double-doubles. He is averaging 31.3 FPTS per game over the last 5 games and he is in a groove right now backing up Kevin Love. The Pistons allow the 4th most fantasy points to opposing PF/C’s and Nance’s athleticism should give him an advantage over some of Detroit’s reserve big men. You can’t beat this price tonight.
Sleeper Play
Darius Bazley ($4,000) vs Mavericks– Thunder rookie Darius Bazley didn’t play in college so he doesn’t have the name recognition but he is starting to get in a groove off the bench for a surprisingly good OKC team. He put up 11 points and 5 rebounds as well as a 15 and 6 game in the two most recent contests and didn’t score less than 20 FPTS in either game. Gallinari has been in and out of the lineup but Bazley usually hovers around 20 minutes per game and given his skillset this is more than enough time for him to exceed his value at $4,000.
