Point Guard
Marcus Smart ($6,800) vs Raptors– Marcus Smart may not have the smoothest offensive game but he was shooting the ball great in game 6 when he dropped 23 PTS 11 REB and 10 AST on 7/15 from the field with 6 three pointers. He has been stuffing the stat sheet all series and in the last 5 games he is averaging 14.6 PPG 6.8 RPG and 5.2 APG on 40% shooting from behind the arc. Smart does enough for me here to feel confident rostering him despite the fact that he doesn’t score the ball with ease. If he can shoot anything like he did the other night he will easily return value at this price.
Shooting Guard
Gary Harris ($4,600) vs Clippers– Gary Harris missed a lot of time early in the restart due to injury but he has now been playing very meaningful minutes for the Nuggets. He has scored double digit points in each of his last 3 games and has shown to be elite on the defense end, with 7 steals in the last 3 games. He, a lot like Smart, won’t “wow” anybody with his offense but does a little bit of everything to put FPTS on the board. With only 2 games on the slate I think we need a bit of this as we hope our big named guys will carry most of the load.
Small Forward
Jayson Tatum ($9,500) vs Raptors– Tatum is our highest price player of the night and for good reason. He has been dominant in this series and in the last 5 games of the series he is averaging 24 PPG 10.2 RPG and 5.6 APG. He is only shooting 41% from the field but he does get up enough shots for him to still be useful in fantasy. The Raptors have had no answer all series and in the last closeout game Tatum showed up to play dropping 60 FPTS vs the 76ers. I have all the confidence in the world that Tatum will put up a great performance tonight.
Power Forward
Michael Porter Jr. ($5,200) vs Clippers– Porter Jr. made some questionable comments after the most recent Nuggets loss about getting more players involved in the offense. While this looks bad I think we could see a lot of work for Porter Jr. like we saw in game 3 when he went 8/17 with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Porter is a gunner and lets it fly whenever he has any sort of open look and that’s why he is on our roster tonight. He has also had 6+ rebounds in each of his last 6 games so I like Porter Jr. and his upside in this spot tonight.
Center
Ivica Zubac ($5,000) vs Nuggets– Zubac has had the assignment of guarding Nikola Jokic in this series and despite not having much offensive game he has still been able to score around 20 FPPG in the last 4 games. He has scored 25 FPTS in 2 of the last 3 games and is a beast in the glass when he gets enough playing time. He played 30 minutes on Tuesday which is encouraging for tonight and at this price I think it is worth the risk and maybe he can get into double-double territory.
Sleeper Play
Montrezl Harrell ($4,300) vs Nuggets– Montrezl has been scoring the ball fine, double digits in every game of this series, but he hasn’t been making much of an impact on the glass. His minutes have hovered around 20 per game which is what we should expect in this one. He made 6 FG, which was the most he had made all series, in the Clippers last game so I am going to take the chance that there is more of that to come in this game. His season averages vs Denver are better than what he is shown and at this price I am willing to bet that he does a bit more tonight.
