Quarterbacks
Deshaun Watson ($6,900) vs Jaguars- Deshaun Watson had his best game of the year in week 4 putting up 300 passing yards with 2 touchdowns. The Texans fired play-caller and head coach Bill O’Brien this week and that is leading a lot of people to think Watson will be unleashed this week vs the Jaguars. Only time will tell but it is encouraging to see Watson get some production passing the ball. It is also encouraging that Randall Cobb, Brandin Cooks, and especially Will Fuller are healthy for the young QB. I like Watson at this price vs a low tier Jaguars pass defense.
Teddy Bridgewater ($5,900) vs Falcons- Another QB who had his best game of the season in week 4 was Panthers QB, Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns vs the Cardinals in an upset victory. He also ran for 32 yards and a touchdown, which makes it 2 out of the 4 games where Teddy has run for 26+ yards. I really like his matchup this week vs the Falcons who secondary is one of the most banged up in the league and were just lit up by the Packers on Monday night. Obviously, Bridgewater doesn’t have the same talent as Rodgers but I think almost anybody could carve up this Falcons defense.
Running Backs
Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($6,800) vs Raiders- Edwards-Helaire wasn’t able to find the endzone on Monday night but he had 91 total yards on 19 touches in a game that lacked offense for the most part. He will be rewarded with a matchup this week vs the Las Vegas Raiders, a team that ranks 32nd vs opposing RBs on DK so far this season. CEH should get a lot of work in this game especially later if this game as all people expect, which would be a game where the Chiefs control for the most part. He hasn’t been getting in the endzone frequently but I think CEH will have enough volume in this game to be a valuable fantasy option.
Mike Davis ($6,400) vs Falcons- Mike Davis has had the tough task of replacing Christian McCaffrey but he has stepped up in a big way for the Panthers. In his two starts, Davis has scored no less than 22.1 FPTS and has been a threat carrying the ball and has even caught 13 passes in the last 2 games. Bridgewater likes to dump it off to Davis and vs the Falcons I think there will be a lot of opportunities for YAC. The Falcons rank 29th vs backs this year so there have been openings that other backs have exploited.
Wide Receivers
JuJu Smith-Schuster ($6,700) vs Eagles- The Steelers had an unexpected bye week this past week but they will be back in action vs the Eagles this Sunday. The Eagles defensive front is very good but their secondary is a bit iffy. They are led by Darius Slay, who is very good, but I think JuJu could have the upper hand. With Big Ben back at QB, he has seen an increase in production compared to last year and he already has 3 TDs in 3 games played so far this season. The matchup will be tough but I think at this price he is a very solid option after an early week off.
Jamison Crowder ($5,800) vs Cardinals- The Jets offense has been very bad so far this season but in the two games where Jamison Crowder has played, he has been excellent. In those two games, he has 14 catches on 23 targets with 219 yards and a TD. He is QB Sam Darnold’s favorite target out of the slot and it shows. Darnold comes into this game questionable so if he isn’t playing I wouldn’t roster Crowder, but if he does I’m all in on the veteran WR. There is just too much value at this price to pass up in my opinion.
Tight End
Mo Alie-Cox ($4,200) vs Browns- Alie-Cox hasn’t had a ton of volume so far this season but he is turning into a go-to target for Philip Rivers in the red zone. He has a TD in each of the last two games and with the injuries to some key Colts WRs that could open some things up for the TE. He has 2 double-digit scoring games and has scored no lower than 8.3 in the last 3 weeks so I think I am going to take a shot on him vs the Browns, who are allowing the most points to TEs on DK so far this season.
Defense
Los Angeles Rams D/ST ($4,000) vs Washington-For the 2nd straight week I will be rostering the Rams defense. They caused havoc in the Giants backfield last week with 5 sacks and they only allowed 9 points as a team en-route to an 11 FPTS performance. Washington’s offense hasn’t looked very impressive and they have been turning it over fairly often so far this season. I think their front with Ramsey patrolling the secondary will be too much for Dwayne Haskins and company to handle.
