DraftKings MLB Daily Fantasy Picks 10/7/19

Top Pitchers

Luis Severino ($8,600) vs TwinsSeverino will be pitching in the postseason for the first time tonight on the road in Minnesota. He’s only pitched in 12 innings this season but he has performed well posting a 1.50 ERA and he has proved in the past to be a proven arm in the Yankees rotation. The Twins offense hasn’t been great so far and it’s unclear if they are a team ready for postseason play. I like Severino at this price tonight rather than paying for some of the top options.

Dakota Hudson ($5,800) vs BravesDakota Hudson was excellent his last time out for the Cardinals going 5 innings and only allowing 2 hits with 10 strikeouts. His walk rate has been a bit high but overall he has been very solid on the mound. He is dirt cheap tonight compared to the rest of the pitchers in this playoff 4 games slate. His play overall has been inconsistent hence the price but I think in these slates like these it is worth it to take a shot, and Hudson is the shot I’m taking tonight vs the Braves.

Top Hitters

George Springer ($4,800) vs RaysGeorge Springer hasn’t had a lot of plate appearances vs Charlie Morton but in the ones he has had he has done well hitting .400. He has also been very consistent scoring in 8 of his last 9 games and he has rarely gotten shut out in the FPTS department. He has shown in the playoffs that he can step up big time and vs Morton, who allowed 6 ER in his last start vs Houston, he should be able to have some quality at bats. Morton is a quality pitcher but given his previous start vs the Astros I’m fading him here.

Anthony Rendon ($4,500) vs DodgersRendon already has 3 hits in this series and he has been superb all year for the nationals. He has seen tonight’s Dodgers SP Rich Hill very well in 8 PAs hitting .333 with a home run. Rendon is one of the best hitters in all of baseball and against a struggling lefty in Rich Hill he should be able to get ample opportunities to produce near the top of the Nationals lineup. Roster Rendon with confidence tonight at home.

Adam Eaton ($3.800) vs DodgersLike Rendon, Adam Eaton has been good vs Rich Hill hitting .500 with a double, triple, and a walk in 6 plate appearances. There isn’t a lot of history to go off here but I think the Nationals will bounce back and win this game so I have to back some of the pieces I think will help with that. He has limited postseason experience and hasn’t been electric so far this season but there is a lot of value in this spot.

Martin Maldonado ($2,800) vs RaysMaldonado isn’t the everyday catcher for the Astros but he should be in the lineup today given his stats in his career vs Charlie Morton. He is hitting .539 with a double vs the former Astro pitcher in 18 career PAs. In 1 postseason game this year he went 2/3 with an RBI so he seems ready to step up when it matters most. At only $2,800 for a catcher there is not much risk here so if you want to take a flyer on Martin I think this is the spot to do it.
