Top Pitchers
Tanner Roark ($9,300) vs Royals– Tanner Roark has been a solid addition to the A’s pitching staff and despite struggling in his last start vs the Royals I think he will be able to bounce back at home. In his last 4 starts at home he hasn’t allowed more than 2 ERs and that has been against some big time competition in the Yankees and Astros. The Royals lineup is not on par with those teams and as the season winds down every A’s game is a must win if they want to hold off the chasing teams in the AL wild card race. Roster Roark with confidence tonight.
Dakota Hudson ($8,100) vs Cardinals– Hudson has been playing some great baseball for the Cardinals not allowing more than 4 hits in any of his last 5 starts on the year and posting 7+ Ks in 3 of those starts. He now owns a 3.38 ERA on the year and getting a guy who has been this consistent at this price is a steal in my opinion. The Nationals have a solid offense but not enough for him to be priced $1,200 below Tanner Roark, who I obviously like as well. Hudson hasn’t scored less than 18.1 FPTS in 6 straight starts and I don’t see that happening tonight at home.
Top Hitters
Charlie Blackmon ($5,400) vs Mets– Blackmon hasn’t been playing his best for the Rockies but he has been getting on base in almost every game. He has reached at least once in 13 of his last 14 games and has been superb against tonight’s Mets SP Steven Matz. In 19 career PAs Blackmon is hitting .563 with two doubles vs the left hander. Knowing this and with the Rockies playing at Coors Field I am willing to lay the big $5,400 price.
Eloy Jimenez ($3,900) vs Twins– White Sox rookie OF Eloy Jimenez has had a up and down season but as of now it seems like he is on the up. Coming into tonight’s game he has a hit in 7 straight games with 7 R 3 HRs and 11 RBIs. Jimenez has big time pop and with his high ceiling I think we are getting some really good value here. He has also hit it well vs Twins SP Jose Berrios, 4/10 in his career. Eloy is hitting it too well right now not to take a shot at him at an under $4,000 price.
Ben Zobrist ($3,300) vs Reds–Ben Zobrist has missed a lot of time this year but it looks like he is starting to get going at the right time for the Cubs. He has hits in 5 of his last 7 games with 4 R 1 HR and 3 RBIs. His price is great tonight and has seen the ball well vs Reds SP Sonny Gray. In 8 ABs he has 4 hits including 2 doubles and a walk vs the veteran right hander. Zobrist is the perfect high floor guy to have in your lineup if you need to save some salary for a guy like Charlie Blackmon or a top of the line pitcher.
Jose Peraza ($2,700) vs Cubs– Looking to take a flyer at a middle infield position??? If it was up to me Jose Peraza would be my guy. He has been playing poorly, hence the price tag, but I like his matchup vs Cubs SP Cole Hamels. Hamels has been allowing a lot of hits and baserunners lately and Peraza has done well in his career going 5/11 with a home run vs the lefty. Not a lot to go on here but if u are desperate for a guy who will probably have low ownership this is your man.
