Top Pitchers
Zach Wheeler ($10,200) vs Marlins– Wheeler has been excellent on the mound to close out the season for the Mets. Coming into tonight’s game Wheeler has allowed exactly 1 ER in 5 straight starts and has struck out more than 6 batters in the last 3 games. He has always had elite stuff and him putting it together is a good sign for DFS players this week in a slate that only has 5 games. The Marlins are not a very good baseball team and in Wheeler’s last start vs them he threw 8 shutout innings so I’m not worried about paying the hefty price for the New York right hander.
Joe Musgrove ($7,700) vs Cubs– Joe Musgrove has been up and down but he hasn’t been giving up runs in bunches as of late and has put forth some quality performances for where he is priced at. He also pitched extremely well vs the Cubs in their last meeting when he went 7.1 innings allowed 2 ER and struck out 9 Chicago batters. The Cubs are in the midst of a terrible losing streak and I believe Musgrove will be able to keep them down tonight at home. Musgrove won’t give you a long outing but he has shown that he can strike out enough batters to make him worth it in this spot.

Marcus Semien ($5,100) vs Mariners– Semien continues to hit the ball very well for the Oakland A’s. Coming into tonight’s game he has at least 1 hit in 13 of his last 14 games and he has been producing a good amount of runs for a middle tier shortstop. The power has also been there with his 30+ bombs on the season. I like him even more vs Felix Hernandez tonight who Semien is hitting .349 with 5 home runs against in 43 career PAs. In a smaller slate such as this one I am willing to pay the $5,000+ price for Semien.
Kevin Newman ($4,300) vs Cubs– Newman won’t “wow” anybody with power or production but he has the ability to steal a base, 16 on the year, and he has been playing pretty well for the Pirates as of late. With 16 hits in his last 14 games I feel confident in Newman tonight in a good matchup vs Cubs left hander Jose Quintana. In 14 career PAs he is hitting .500 vs the veteran lefty. Newman comes in at a good price for owners tonight.
Brandon Nimmo ($3,900) vs Marlins– Mets OF Brandon Nimmo has been knocking in a good amount of runs for New York lately. He has at least 1 RBI in 8 of his last 10 games and has added on a good amount of runs scored, it helps with Pete Alonso in your lineup. Nimmo comes in at a solid price in my opinion tonight vs a pitcher that has had his struggles giving up hits in bunches for the Marlins. There isn’t a lot to go off of here but Nimmo is one of the better high floor options in this range tonight.
Franmil Reyes ($3,800) vs White Sox– Indians slugger Franmil Reyes has started to get hot again with the bat. He has two homers in his last 6 games and he has reached base in 8 straight starts which is promising because he has a sub .310 OBP on the season. Franmil has power, 36 HRs, so when he is making hard contact and getting on base it is good to have him on your roster especially if he is priced this low. He has only played 1 game vs White Sox starter Dylan Cease but he did have a double so if you are looking for big upside in this range Franmil Reyes is your guy.
